Styling Tips on Using Your Flat Iron
Posted July 30th, 2006 by ZimonIf you want to replace unwanted curls or waves with sleek and shiny locks, hair straighteners are just what you need. Whatever your budget you need to be aware that using any heated appliance will weaken and damage hair, so look for straighteners with ceramic-coated plate, which are kinder to your locks. A variable temperature capability is also a bonus. Choose a reputable brand and remember that if you have short or mid-length hair, you may find those with smaller plates easier to work with and those with wider plates are ideal for thick, long hair. What should we know when use hair straighteners?
Tips on How to Use Hair Straighteners
Posted July 30th, 2006 by ZimonHair straightening irons are very easy to use. Simply take small sections of hair, place the irons at the root of the section and work through to the ends. It is advisable to apply a light pressure at the root and increase the pressure towards the ends for more control of the hair.

On Hair Styling

One of the most effective techniques for dealing with cowlicks at the bang area is to try drying the bangs forward with a vent or round brush so that the cowlick will be weighted down. Another technique is to have a hairstyle that incorporates the cowlick into the style thereby creating lift at the cowlick. Use styling tools to support either styling technique.
Curling Iron Styling
If you want a longer hold when you style with a curling iron try spraying hairspray BEFORE curling hair.
Styling With Hot Rollers
When using hot rollers spray dry hair first with a "working" hairspray. Take your first section and comb it smooth, spray with hairspray and then twist the section before wrapping on the roller. This will give a spiral look to your curls. After rollers have cooled take out rollers and spray with a "working" hairspray. Finally turn head upside down and run your fingers through your hair.
Glossary of Cosmetic Terms
Posted March 27th, 2006 by hairallThis glossary was compiled from a wide variety of sources ranging from ordinary dictionaries to beauty guides. If any of the sources noted a particular ingredient as a potential irritant, an asterisk (*) has been placed by the ingredient to help those with sensitive skin easily identify the chemical or extract. It has been my observation that many ingredients listed as potential irritants are only irritating to extremely sensitive skin or those with an allergy to the offending ingredient. If it is a common irritant, two asterisks (**) are placed next to its name. If an ingredient is known for its gentleness, a carat (^) has been placed next to its name.

Short and Sassy

Let's face it. One has to have great facial and neck features as well as good head shape to wear their hair super short. Natalie Portman looks elegantly fabulous in this one hairstyle fits all occasions. Some of us depend on our hair shape and style to make us more beautfiul. Then there are gals like Natalie that could shave their head and still look fantastic. You can wear some of the hairstyles some of the time but you can't wear all of the hairstyles all of the time. Unless, of course you are so
